Level Lock Pro Review (2026): Smart but Stylish
You'd never guess this lock is smart by looking at it, and that's my favorite part. No bulk or screen; looks like a regular lock from both sides of the door. Impressive design with the battery hidden inside the lock bolt. App is beautiful and easy to use. Best with accessories that need to be purchased separately.

Automated Holiday Party Ideas (2025): Ninja, HP Sprocket, Cricut
I'm testing smart home gear and high-tech party gadgets at every holiday party I host and attend. Here's how to automate the little things so you can actually enjoy the seasonal vibes this year. It's that time of year when calendars are full of Friendsgiving events and white elephant parties . If you're looking for holiday party ideas that will actually make hosting and enjoying your next holiday party easier, this is the guide for you. It's no small task to host a great party, and as a deeply type B person who's more likely to make another Partiful invite than she is to start cooking a recipe on time, I'm always looking for ways to streamline my hosting.

Schlage Arrive Smart WiFi Deadbolt Lock review: Premium build
When you purchase through links in our articles, we may earn a small commission. This smart lock boasts triple-A BHMA residential lock certification and is rated ANSI Grade 1 for commercial installations, but it lacks a few features. The Schlage Arrive Smart WiFi Deadbolt Lock is a well-made smart lock that concentrates on the most important tasks, but some will find its price tag a bit high for its limited feature set. Schlage has manufactured premium locks for more than a century, and the company successfully transitioned to the smart home era more than a decade ago. The Schlage Arrive Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt Lock is a lower-cost alternative to the company's earlier Wi-Fi deadbolts, the Encode and Encode Plus, but the entry-level Arrive still commands a premium price.
5 cheap and easy smart home upgrades I recommend to my friends
Smart homes don't need to be complicated or expensive. Take a methodical approach and keep an eye out for bargains and you can enjoy many of the conveniences of living in a smart home without spending much at all. The secret is to start slow, and to invest in a few solid products that will have the most impact, I'm talking electrical outlets, lighting, climate control, and the like. In other words, you can probably get by without a smart washing machine, but installing a smart thermostat will be a game changer for both your comfort and living expenses. One of the keys to successfully getting a smart home up and running is to ensure everything you install is fully compatible and interoperable. Many smart home ecosystems were originally designed around a central hub and wireless protocols that were supposed to hit it big, but that either never really took off or have faded in importance and mainstream appeal.
TCL D1 Fingerprint Smart Lock review: More than the basics
This inexpensive smart lock covers the basics--and even provides a fingerprint reader--making for a very affordable smart lock if you don't need any other bells and whistles. You probably know TCL for its TVs, soundbars, and smart appliances more than its home security devices, but the manufacturer now offers no fewer than six smart locks (and one home security camera, too). One of its most ambitious smart locks--the D1 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock--was a better value than the even more ambitious TCL D1 Max 3-in-1 Video Smart Lock, which boasted an integrated video doorbell. Both of those devices had their flaws, but if you're willing to give up palm vein scanning technology and an integrated camera to see your visitors, the far more basic TCL D1 is the better value. This less-expensive alternative retains the PIN pad, fingerprint scanner, and Wi-Fi connectivity in a package that's available at Amazon for just 90.

Eufy Smart Display E10 review: A visual home security panel
The Eufy Smart Display E10 is a fast, focused, and private way to manage your home security–provided you're living in Eufy's home security ecosystem. Smart displays aren't new, but Eufy's take on the category is a little different. Rather, it's a dedicated visual control panel for your Eufy-powered home security system, one that puts live video feeds, visitor alerts, and event summaries all in one place. Unlike an Echo Show or Nest Hub, it does it all without leaning on the cloud, serving up ads, or connecting to a server somewhere. The Eufy Smart Display E10 looks more like a small tablet than a security device.
Google TV users with Nest Cams are getting an essential feature
Google just announced a slew of features coming to Google Home, and one of them will come in particularly handy for Google TV users with Nest Cams guarding their households. Coming soon, Nest Cam feeds will get picture-in-picture support on Google TV devices, perfect for keeping eyes on your home while streaming your favorite shows. The long-awaited feature will make it easy to see who's at your door while in the middle of a binge-watching session, and you'll also be able to check the backyard or other Nest Cam-monitored areas without pausing the video. Google TV devices will soon get picture-in-picture support for live Nest Cam feeds. The new picture-in-picture mode is coming first to the Google TV Streamer, and you'll need to be in Google's public preview program.
Lockly Secure Pro 2025 Version review: Once more, with Wi-Fi
Integrated Wi-Fi is the major upgrade in this revamp of Lockly's well-aged Secure Pro lock, making it a winner on all fronts. The Lockly Secure Pro isn't a new lock, but rather an upgrade to an old one: The original Lockly Secure Pro came out way back in 2019, hence this release's full (and rather awkward) name: Lockly Secure Pro 2025 Version. The two locks have roughly the same industrial appearance (though the new lock is reportedly 25 percent smaller), so you'll need to pay close attention when shopping to ensure you're getting the current version. While Lockly's website includes the 2025 indicator in the name, many vendors, including Amazon, do not. Look for Lockly model number PGD728WMBE1 to be sure.
